Farecast Launching Soon
Posted by Brian Smith at May 25th, 2006

John Cook’s Venture Blog from the Seattle Post Intelligence gives a sneak peek at Farecast.

Farecast attempts to forecast the future of airline ticket prices and then recommend when a consumer should buy a ticket. According to the article, Farecast gets its fare pricing information from ITA Software.

Farecast was founded by Oren Etzioni, a Madrona Ventures Partner and founder of Netbot (later renamed Jango and sold to Excite), which was a very early shopping comparison engine agent.
